Korea 1330 Helpline: Tourist Information and Travel Help

You do not need to solve every unfamiliar travel problem alone. Korea’s 1330 travel helpline and official tourist information centers can help you understand places, travel options and language-related questions. The most useful request is specific: where you are, when you want to travel and what you need to find out.

Choose the right kind of help

Your situationStart here
You need tourism guidance or help explaining a travel questionKorea Tourism Organization’s 1330 page
You want a local map or in-person guidanceOfficial Seoul tourist information center directory
You need to change or cancel a particular bookingThe company that issued the reservation
There is immediate danger or an urgent emergency112 for police; 119 for fire or ambulance

1330 is a tourism assistance service, not a replacement for contacting emergency services directly in immediate danger. Seoul’s official visitor guidance distinguishes the tourism helpline from the police and fire/medical numbers.

How to contact 1330

The official VISITKOREA page lists 1330 within Korea and +82-2-1330 from overseas. It also provides online call and chat options. Use the buttons on the official page rather than an account found in an unsolicited message. Online calls on Wi-Fi are described as free; mobile data charges can apply. A data-only travel SIM may not support ordinary voice calls, so check the online option when needed.

Language availability and service details can change. Open the current official service page for the channel and language you want rather than assuming every option works the same way.

Prepare a message that staff can act on

Copy this template into your notes and replace the bracketed parts:

Hello. I am near [place and Korean address]. I want to visit [destination] on [date]. I need help checking [one specific question]. I am traveling with [relevant luggage or access needs]. Could you help me find the correct official information?

For example: “I am near Jonggak Station. I want to visit a museum tomorrow. I need to confirm which entrance is step-free and whether I need to book.” This gives a clearer task than “What should I do in Seoul?” Have a map pin ready, but avoid sending unrelated identity or payment documents.

A concrete in-person option: Seoul Tourism Plaza

The official center page lists the Seoul Tourism Plaza Tourist Information Center on the first floor of the Samil Building, 85 Cheonggyecheon-ro, Jongno-gu. It lists daily hours of 09:00–18:00, with closure on Lunar New Year and Chuseok day, and phone +82-2-6365-3100. Details checked September 17, 2026.

Use that address as your map destination and allow time to arrive before closing. The directory is useful for finding a closer center if you are elsewhere. Ask for the Korean spelling of a destination, the relevant official booking page and the best next step; do not assume the desk can override an operator’s refund policy or guarantee an available ticket.

Leave with a usable answer

  • Save the exact address or destination name.
  • Write down the date and opening or departure time discussed.
  • Keep the operator’s link or contact details.
  • Repeat the next action in your own words to check you understood.

For a complicated trip, resolve the first decision before asking about the next one. A clear transport or entrance answer often makes the rest of your day easier to plan.
